Oil based vs Waterbased????

Hi, what is the difference between Waterbased and Oil based lube? When should we use which? ta

From what I can understand, oil-based lube is not compatible with condoms, whereas waterbased ones are. There's apparently also a 3rd type -silicone based ones, but I haven't done the research on those yet.

Hi Guys! Thanks for the questions. 'Aex' - you had it right. Most Oil-based lubes, and all silicon-based lubes should not be used with condoms as they will persish them. If you are using condoms for protection - best stick to water-based lubes. Water-based lubes are the most common on the market and are highly effective although they do tend to dry our more quickly than their oil-based or silicon-based counterparts. Oily and silicon lubes are usually preferred by those who want a longer-lasting glide. So if you are in for a marathon session and condoms aren't an issue - certainly give them a go! Oil-based lubes are particularly good if you would like a lube to use on yourselves or a toy in water as the are not soluble. My only other piece of advice is to make sure you don't use silicon lubes on silicon toys as this will break down the material of your toy! Hope that is enough info for you!
