If you live in a house in NZ, chances are your walls are pretty thin. And if your flatmate is a light sleeper then you could encounter some embarassing meetings at breakfast time. re. wearing out... the last vibe I had (mid-priced) had a cheap potentiometer which I've seen on a lot of vibrators. It started heating up & bleeding the batteries dry while off, and I eventually had to turn it up & up until it wouldn't vibrate at all.
