Wax Play

Postby Jan123 on Tue Jun 02, 2009 9:01 pm

Hi all,
just wondering if many people have any thoughts, experiences, ideas about Wax Play. ie dripping candle wax on your partner as part of 'pain play'. I am keen to investigate a bit more about it, and have googled a few things, but just wondering if anyone has any hints... before I get started!! let me know :?

Well I wanted to add my 5 cents - I know sweet F-A about it so am keen to know some stuff too. I've seen it happen on a few swedish documentaries, but haven't pursued it further.

Ok well all i can say is plan this one CAREFULLY! I did this to my ex once, neither of us had thought ahead and he happened to be really hairy. So here we were laying in bed, i dripped the candle wax onto his chest and oh lawd... im not sure if he was just being a sook, but it apparently was too hot for him to handle. Also to make things worse it all got stuck on his hair and boy it was just a mess. He struggled to get it all off him in the shower. He was also not keen on my idea of just setting him on fire to get rid of it. LOL! Hey it wud have been cheaper than waxing or shaving! Maybe he was a lil too dramatic about it but yeh i guess its not for everyone. Afterwards he told me i was just sadistic.... Way to kill the romance.

WOW Lilbabychick, that would certainly kill the moment!! Funny story to look back on though  Yes i have been reading a bit on the net - and they do suggest to rub oil on areas with lots of hair, so that the wax doesn't "stick" if you know what I mean - but the oil also transfers the heat more, so you need a cooler burning candle if you are going to do this.... Also I read that the further away the candle is to the body, ie the long the drip time, then the wax cools before it hits you, so you can adjust the temperature that way..... So much to think about. I just love the feeling of putting wax on your hands and then peeling it off, but not sure if I am up to actually dripping it on the rest of me???

Who else has experimented?

What do you mean Funny to look back on!? Hell it was funny at the time. I was laughing like crazy. There wasnt anything else i cud do! We didnt do any research on it before hand, just went for it. So i guess that shows it does pay to research before getting urself errrr..... burnt. Oh and i love wax on my hands and peeling it off too. I dip my fingers in the hot wax around the burning wick and then touch people with my "fake" fingertips. Freaks em out. lol

Hi Jan123, this is an interesting post and in response to it I’ve ordered in some Japanese Drip Candles for June which you can check out here: http://sexgear.co.nz/bondage-gear/kits/japanese-drip-candles/. The candles are specially designed for the purpose of wax play and you can drip the wax, pour it, or even paint it on with a brush!

Communication is really important when experimenting with these types of toys; otherwise one of you may be having a fabulous time while the other is in serious pain!

I’ve put together some top tips for you to help you with your experimentation:

1. Hold the candle at least 18 inches above the skin, this allows the drip some time to cool before landing on the skin.
2. Test the temperature on yourself first (start with less sensitive areas) to gauge safety in terms of temperature.
3. Start with larger less sensitive areas like the back or shoulders. Avoid the face, and be especially careful with delicate areas like the genitals, nipples or navel.
4. Remember once wax cools it's tough to remove it from hair, so avoid hairy areas unless you're aiming for a wax hair removal treatment!!

I hope that’s helpful.

Take care,
Sarah and the SG Team
