One Night Stands

I would love to know peoples thoughts on these? How often do you do this? I've done it once recently because I have been single for about 18months and it was just getting ridiculous! Wasn't bad...wasn't great....

Same! Had a one night (well - afternoon! ) stand with a guy I had known for a while not so long ago.
Sex was ok (he was very talented with his tongue, lol!), but made things pretty awkward each time I seen the guy afterwards!

When I was a bit younger - doing the young professionals always out on friday nights scene - I have to admit , I loved one night stands. I was in a phase in life where I had been in a long term relationship for 4 years and i just wanted to get out and enjoy life. So I ate and drank well, spent all my money on myself, totally mastered my job, and had great nights with good-looking guys who didn't end up interfering in my fun for any longer than 24hours. Sometimes, when you're feeling randy, you just want a good no strings attached shag.

totally agree - been single a few years now... and not sure how much I want a full on relationship... but a one nighter... or a regular buddie wouldn't go a miss! can't hurt too much if your safe about it.

In 2006, I had it on w/ a friend whom I hadn't seen/talked to in over 5 years. My second, and last, one night stand. Nothing against my friend - she was awesome! But at that time (and today), I had the mindset that having sex for the sake of having sex wasn't my thing.

Hmm, this is an interesting subject. My view when I was in my early 20's, was "why the hell not"!! I ended up having quite a number of very short flings. That was all good and well back then, but all of a sudden things have drastically changed. I have now meet a new guy, and now that I am in my early 30's I am really keen on actually having a relationship that lasts. The issue I now have is that I know the question will be asked about how many partners I have had, and I really really don't want to answer this truthfully, just in case it turns him off!!! My numbers almost at 50.... and if you justify that at 5 partners a year for 10 years it doesn't seem so bad.... but I am still nervous to share it with my new partner.... thoughts?

Fair enuff on your view when you were in your 20s. A lot of ppl were like that but it wasn't really my thing. When I was at secondary school, guys would continually nag me to hang out with them Fri/Sat nights and drink at their place (since we were too young to hit the town). I attended a single sex school and I was the only guy who ended secondary school in my form year as a virgin. I don't regret it.

But tell you what, my Current was extremely surprised that I could count on one hand how many girls I've been with - 5. It took her a little bit for her to get over it.


But anyway, advice for you, I would prolly say to tease him about the information, like "Well, I've been with...nah it's embarrassing..." and let him egg you on and say something like "It's a big number." and continue teasing him for like another 3 comments and the last comment should be like "Are you ready for this big number?" and tell him.

Or you could just straight up tell him and if he looks like a stunned mullet, you could chuck in something random like "Did you know that the male preying mantis cannot copulate with its head attached to its body? The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off."

And if he looks even more like a stunned mullet, you could grin and say to him "Would you rather be told how many guys I've been, or be a preying mantis?"

I have bean sexually active for just over a year now. I have now had 10 'partners'. And have only been going out with one of them. One night stands are great.

The morning (and the next few months) after is always bad for me.
